About

MeI’m a 25 year old internet enthusiast and entrepreneur who is best known for founding Fluc.com with my good friend Ruslan Konvsier. I’ve been living in Melbourne, Australia my entire life and have studied all sorts of different disciplines from Chemical Engineering and Microbiology, to Mathematics, to Commerce & Business and now more recently Intellectual Property Law.

While I’m no software engineer by trade, I find technology and its application to human life fascinating. I’m keen to enrol in a Postgraduate Computer Science course at some point in the future because of my new found love for C# and the power of Web Services that Microsoft Technologies can so easily provide.

I began exploring the internet and HTML/CSS at the beginning of 2004. While some may argue this was long after the dot-com boom, it was the same year that Google launched its IPO – so I consider it an omen. When I finished high school, I had my heart set on a Chemical Engineering and Virology career, but I just couldn’t get myself enthralled in it enough to do it for my entire life. I changed to Business Law & Finance, and from this discovered that I actually enjoyed studying law and its relation to technology. I created this small website in my spare time with the hope of providing some people with more knowledge about the stock market and it was my first web project. It really did teach me a lot about search engine optimization, coding and database management when I first created it - so it was a fantastic start to my internet journey. (Oh and please – no need to tell me – it’s not the greatest, but because of it Google pays for my web hosting.)

At this point in my life, I still believed that Finance was the way to go so I completed numerous Graduate Study Programs around Technical Analysis and Investment Finance – even starting the CFA program before finally deciding that I was sick of Finance at the ripe old age of 23. I then enrolled in a Masters of Business Law and also enrolled into a Juris Doctor. I’ve now completed the Masters and just have the Juris Doctor left. I think (I hope) this is my final change!

Around about the same time as I lost my passion for Finance, I found my passion for the Internet. I met Ruslan during mid 2006 - a long story in itself - and we teamed up to try and build something innovative. Ruslan is a programming prodigy in my mind, and based in Israel. It was obvious that he earned his Masters of Computer Science because he knows a great deal about PCs - from Hardware, to Web Services, to Algorithm Development and beyond. We dabbled in a few different ideas that never really launched before deciding that mobile technology was the way of future – and the way for us. I carved out some ideas from a music site we were building at the time, and it was this project that made me think more about mobile technologies - my focus ever since.

I’ve worked (and still work) damn hard to raise funding for Fluc by myself, and my parents help out whenever they can - acting as my somewhat impromptu “angel-investors”. It’s a difficult start-up environment in Australia, at least for me anyway, as while I was building Fluc I couldn’t really find any external or experienced angel investors. I tried once and it just didn’t work out as the angel wanted too much - so I said no and just persevered with the funding that I could gather. I considered this a critically important step for me as a buddying young entrepreneur to learn, because I really began to understand how precious money is, how every cent counts and how much risk I really was taking to get my idea off the ground (mobile start-ups are inherently more expensive than other ideas to launch). But my family and my girlfriend of 3 years supported me all the way and you can’t ask for much more than that.

I continue to work on Fluc to this day and if you want to contact me, feel free to do so using the Contact Me page above.
